Dean Steward is a 35 year veteran of the federal court system. For 12 of those years, he was in charge of the Federal Public Defender Office in Orange County. Dean brings a wealth of trial experience to defending his clients. He's tried more than 150 jury trials in federal court.

“DRUGS MINUS TWO” Motion Filed for Client- December, 2014
In one of the first such motions to be filed in federal court, Mr. Steward prepared and submitted a motion seeking the reduction of his client’s sentence under a new amendment to the federal sentencing drug case Guidelines. Under Amendment 782, district court judges now have the power to go back and re-sentence defendants in drug cases, if the judge uses the amendment and drops the drug Guideline by two levels.
