Dean Steward is a 35 year veteran of the federal court system. For 12 of those years, he was in charge of the Federal Public Defender Office in Orange County. Dean brings a wealth of trial experience to defending his clients. He's tried more than 150 jury trials in federal court.

December, 2025- Client M.L received a 9 month/time served sentence after extensive sentencing preparation. Prosecutors had sought 24 months (24 to 30 month Guideline range) and Probation recommended 1 year. Mr. Steward was able to convince the Court to go down more than half of the bottom end of the sentencing Guideline range.
